How much sun is enough?!

I've just moved into a house with a good sized rectangular garden about 15x25m. I want to create a couple of small veg beds (I'm a novice with mobility difficulties, so I'm starting modestly) and have been watching the sun for about 6 weeks. No part of the garden is in full sun all day, so I'm trying to work out the best spots to put the beds... If anyone help me work this out (and can follow my descriptions below!) then I'll be v grateful. :)

The longer sides face SW and NE, with trees down the NE side and N corner. If I stand with my back to the house facing the garden, the sun basically starts on the left half way down, spreads to the bottom-left corner, then across to the right with the left moving into shade, and then down the right hand side back towards the house.

So the left/bottom left gets sun in the morning, the bottom gets it in the early afternoon, and the right/top right gets it in the late aft/evening.

Can anyone suggest the best places to put the beds? And/or suggest veg that won't mind some shade?!

I'm not an expert and I can't get my head around your garden without seeing it, but I wou;ld just say. Go for the place with the strongest sun, i.e. midday/ early afternoon. If you can observe the plot for a whole year as in the winter the sun will be lower and the sunny bits smaller!
I'm doing the same and today put out some peasticks with a possible area so I could visualise it better! Good luck!!

Thanks TNMF :) Pea sticks are a good idea. Trying to second-guess the sun in winter is tricky - it passes behind the house on the far side from the garden, and I don't know how high it will be... But I can't wait a full year: I'm too impatient!

i'm not an expert, though know about shade more than anything. agree about going for place with hottest sun. do you want to grow stuff in winter as i'm not bothered. some things, eg lettuce are better in shade, and i also hear that raspberries like it. yields tend to be lower in shade and certain things hate it, eg fruits such as tomotoes. if you google growing vegetables in shade you will find info.

my patio gets sun in morning and then afternoon and i have successfully grown toms, and courgettes. garden area was under tree and couldn't grow anything ....only got sun in evening.

Thanks dreaming. I'm pleased to hear that about raspberries, since I've already planted some in partial shade! :) I'll google for other ideas, as you suggest.
