Aldi plants -cheap but are they actually a saving??

There are lots of shrubs at Aldi today at very competitive prices - fruit bushes, rhodedenroens (sorry if that's spelt wrong!!). I have a need for quite a few plants, and they are very tempting but are they likely to be poor quality and therefore a waste of money, or actually a good saving? Thanks in advance!

I got some veg seedlings from there last week but I'm growing them on indoors, so far so good. The varieties of fruit bushes/trees are the same as those named and recommended in RHS/veg magazines etc, so cannot be that bad, surely. The raspberries I saw in there a few weeks ago certainly looked a lot better than those I ordered from Pomona fruits last year. I also bought the 6 pack bedding plant pack, the one where its all the same colour perennials, from Lidl last week. It's young plug plants but seems to be in better condition than the same kind of thing I ordered from Thompson&Morgan last year. Now from THEM I will not buy again anytime soon, after quite a few disappointments. I think the price makes the gamble well worth it, iykwim.

Thank you - interesting that they are better than some so say good companies. Think I'll pop back and get a few!

I try to get all my plants from aldi and tesco. They are a lot cheaper than online and I've not had problems with them.

Have had some good luck with Poundland shrubs, so I's say go for it.

I usually buy annuals from aldi, and they normally do really well. I've also bought their strawberry plants, and they were fine.
I've not tried their shrubs, but if they look healthy, they are probably worth a go.

I've just planted a rhodedendron from aldi. Its cost me £2.50 compared to £10 in tesco - and its looking good Smile
