hi, sorry novice here again.

M apple and tree pears are doing brilliantly ie growing lots but apple tree now have holey leaves. Three days ago leaves were intact but i noticed 2 brown lumps and closer inspecton realised these were actually made up of loads of tiny baby spiders! Dont know if thats why

also runner beans have holey leaves.

as do sunflowers, is there any child friendly way fairly natural way of dealing with whatever is causing this?

Thanks again

Likely to be a range of different things causing the holes. If it's slugs/snails you can use copper rings around the plants to keep them off (expensive), crushed eggshells (need quite a lot), anything else from the garden centre that advertises itself as a slug/snail barrier, send off for nematodes, or can use some organic slug pellets. There are two kinds of slug pellets available, one safe and one less safe.

Apples I don't know, don't do tree fruit, but I am sure the RHS website will have good advice
