Hello all. My name is Lifeissweet and I am a gardenoholic.

I am a shiny new gardening fiend and am already addicted to all things green and growing Smile

I moved house last summer and inherited a completely overgrown garden. It's largely gravel, but with a fairly large border down the right hand side.

In the Autumn I completely gutted it. I weeded the gravel, which was completely overtaken, cut back a buddleia, which was HUGE and totally dominating the garden. I dug up the bed, which had been taken over by some sort of rampant plant (not sure what it was, but it had to go!) I cut the branches off an old dead tree, only to find a beautiful wrought iron gate propped up, which I have tied to the tree trunk and plan to grow sweetpeas up.

I planted a load of spring bulbs in the winter, which have all come up and look beautiful, but the rest is looking a bit bare at the moment.

I have planted up some young clematis plants to go up the fence on one side and a climbing hydrangea.

I have also planted some Lavender, sweetpeas and wallflowers from seed in my kitchen, which has a kind of conservatory at one end where the kitchen table is (I need to get a mini-greenhouse thing I think, as we can't use the table at the moment!).

So, basically, I'm thoroughly addicted to this gardening lark now and have started to watch Gardener's World and am swooning over Monty and his wheelbarrow. I am wondering how I never got the bug before. I grew up with the most incredible garden as a child - a couple of acres, huge veg patch, about 10 sq feet of raspberry canes, landscaped flower beds, a team of 3 gardeners - and I never had any interest whatsoever! What a waste!

I will doubtless be asking for much advice as I am learning loads and loads and am still totally clueless about most things. I hope you don't mind me butting in on your lovely little mn gardening community.

Please do. I am also an avid Monty fan, although Cleve West (who I have actually SPOKEN TO) comes a photo finish second. I'm quite big on gardening too.
