We have a 5 x 6 metre area ready to other turf or seed this weekend. Know the obvious benefit of turf is an immediate lawn. We are saving at the mo and in no rush but the turf will cost al cost £100 and seed about £20 . Know there's not that much in it money wise but which in your opinion / experience will actually make a more lush lawn . we took this area up because it was almost entirely moss so I really want a nice lawn . thanks x

We've tried both, turf was best.

We are turfing next week, 90 m2, £350, worth it for me, garden very important for me. Seed would take too long, turf just until the roots take.
Plus sick of looking out onto concrete, now mud with topsoil spread on it...can't wait till it is all greeeeenn Smile

They will both end up lush but turf is instant, seed you have to be patient.

Do you have a hosepipe ban? Turf will need a lot of watering.

Also if the spot was mossy before have you corrected the problem that was causing the moss? moss thrives where grass is unhappy - damp shady acid soil. If you haven't sorted that out then whatever you do you will end up back with moss again.

If damp and shady, I recommend seeding with a mix suitable for shady areas.
