Oilseed rape. Makes lovely cooking oil and also used in animal feed. I live in a sea of it here in Lincolnshire.

Thanks. I heard these flowers can cause hayfever?

Yup very very common allergen. I don't get hayfever as a rule but used to cycle to work past a couple of fields of the bastard stuff, would be WEEPING by the time I got there. Luckily only seems to be for about three weeks.

We have a field behind our house and the farmer grew rape last year. Blimey, my hayfever was bad!

They say if you use the oil in your food you can reduce your reaction to the pollen.

Rapeseed oil is one of the healthiest cooking oils you can buy, apparently.
