DC left sixth form college to do a vocational apprenticeship with a level 2 qualification at the end. That is completed, now working in a summer job whilst considering next move.

Regrets leaving 6th form and not doing A Levels as friends are off to uni in September.

What are the options available? Will be 18 till next summer so too young for access courses for adults.
Presumably can’t just go to local sixth form so what is available or is it better to keep working and forget about gaining qualifications now. There is so much information online that we don’t know where to start and nothing seems specifically appropriate for the circumstances. Once you’re out of the education system there doesn’t seem to be any careers advice available.

He should still be eligible for funding for a level 3 course until he has turned 19. Could he continue on from his level 2? Btecs also count towards entry requirements but ideally an extended level 3. Alternatively a level 3 apprenticeship. Your local FE college can advise on progression routes from his existing qualifications. However uni is not a suitable option for all.

If he has Maths and English at GCSE or Functional Skills, he could do a level 3 apprenticeship, then potentially do a degree apprenticeship later (employer pays all uni fees).

Hi , my daughter is coming to the end of year 12 6th form . She wants to leave to start a college course in September, she has a interview in a couple of weeks . She suffers with anxiety and is struggling to get to her law lesson , it’s at a different campus to her other 2 subjects , she’s started having panic attacks about it . School have said she can’t study this subject there or have the work set as they don’t work like that . They have been quite good and got her a councillor to talk too . I took her to the drs and he is writing a letter to the school as a bit of back up . If she finishes now before the end of term which is only a few weeks and doesn’t start course till sept , will she get in trouble as it will be for her own well-being ?
