Full Time college course Scotland - help

I'm really hoping someone can help me! I'm currently claiming jobseekers. I had applied for a part Time childcare course at my local college but I have not been accepted and they have offered me a place on the full time course. It is an NC course.

I was just wondering if I would get any help at all? I do it have childcare in place as i wasn't expecting to go to college full time and would I get any money to study? I am torn on what to do! Would love to take the place but if it means we won't have any money then I can't.

Have the college explained why you haven't been accepted? If it's because you don't have level 2 Maths and English for example, you could ask to do Functional Skills which would be free (I'm in England, so I'm just assuming it's the same for Scotland). Do the job centre not offer advice on funding for study? Also, our local college offer free Distance Learning courses, including some childcare related ones - have you looked at what other free courses your local college offer?

Check your college student info. They normally offer fees paid and bursary and help with childcare.

As a nursery practitioner who mentors students. The NC is a great way to see how it is and learn the basics as well as gain qualifications.
