Has anyone been to these? How essential are they? What do they cover ?

They are useful for deciding on Firm/ Insurance.
The day is more detailed than an open day because the students are holding an offer and deciding whether to commit. My DC knew which uni they wanted to firm but were unsure about their insurance choices so visited the two front runners in order to decide.

@Petalflowers - if you would like to join another thread called "Half way through year 13" within Further Education, there are lots of posters at the same stage who will be more than happy to give you their thoughts about applicant days. My own DD isn't doing Uni so can't offer you advice myself.
