Im a project manager and am based at home, although out a lot with outreach work. Finding it really hard to get down to work, even though kids are back at school (and I should be leaving right NOW to pick them up!)

Just wondered what kind of jobs/fields/businesses and careers you all have? Be great to hear about what you actuall do!

I do Phoenix Trading alongside my part-time office job. Hoping to eventually make that my main job as it's much more fun than the other one!

I'm a freelance editorial project manager - basically publishing (mostly online academic books). I also paint and have done some commissions but that isn't my job exactly as it doesn't earn enough to add to my job title 'freelance editorial project manager and artist'.

Running my partner's building company and freelance hairdresser.

I run my husband's actuarial consultancy and do some occasional freelance teaching for him (statistical confidence for the NFP sector). That only takes about 12 hours a week.

I also have my own company doing meeting management, independent chairing, facilitation and some business and career coaching. I do the coaching and chairing and outsource the meeting management to a few wfh mums and ex bank managers. I coach for an hour most evenings. This is my most lucrative work. I probably facilitate or chair about 8 half days a month on average.

I am also a professional organiser. I help people run their lives, homes and businesses more smoothly using a combination of coaching skills and practical help. I don't earn a huge amount doing this but it's my passion and I love doing it.

In my "spare" time I'm chair of governors at my son's school and I'm a trainee mediator for a local charity.

I run my own business from home, Chiggs, which I started (what seems like yonks ago!) after having an idea for a little card/gadget to help Mums keep a note of baby's feed times.
I designed the product, patented it, and now sell it (and a couple of others to monitor medicine times) through a website and (the main part of the business) in bulk to other businesses:- baby shops, greeting card shops and online retailers, nappy cake makers, baby hamper suppliers etc etc etc!

I'm a graphic artist/online media consultant, Designed To A Tee.

I've been doing it just about a year and hope to never work for someone else again!

I'm a translator, working from French, German and Dutch into English. I work 2 afternoons a week for my largest client, plus whenever else they need me on an ad hoc basis. The rest of the time I take jobs from a number of clients, mostly translation agencies, and it's mainly contracts, but I also get to do press releases, websites, audit reports, business correspondence, etc etc.

The company i do most of my work for is run by Deaf people so i make and recieve phone calls on their behalf. Have dealt with some rather important people without realising who they were! blush

Ooh ooh since I posted DH has 'made' me a website for my paintings, this isn't exactly my job but what I do in the evenings after work and children are all quiet: my present

Farming and construction (diversification). Groundworks and have specialist plant. Partner with husband, can be very profitable but work quiet.

Obviously I cant do the hardwork so I do all the paperwork which includes Risk assessments/methods (I hate), CIS payments, Constructionline, ISO9001, advertising, tendering, toutting, emails, legal, accounts, endless. Very long hours hubby can leave 7am and actually come in after 8pm which leaves me with the young kids.

I come from a construction/technical office background so that has really helped. Very ad-hoc but can be lots of do in evening. But very oftern have to work when the 2 yr old is around which is very difficult.

Get very fustrated and lonely particualy at the weekends, find two boys very challenging. nothing gets done around house if I ask him, I do DIY, cleaning, shopping, all childcare so its a tough life with the farm too.
