I want to send a press release to the local paper but have no idea what my email should say. Any suggestions?
Don't put 'press release' in the subject line; they gets loads every day so might just ignore it. Instead, put the title of the press release - or something that actually relates to the content. In the text you just need a short message to say something like:'Press release attached in relation to xxx. If you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact me on xxxx'.Make sure you include all your contact information; including telephone numbers etc.
Great thank you! It's sent so fingers crossed they do something with it because I can't afford to advertise with them unless I sell a kidney.
I would try to follow up too. As scary as that might be. You need to stick out. Good luck, lets hope they feature it!
