What does an Education Caseworker do?

I'm looking for jobs and have seen a couple for Education Caseworkers for looked after children. I have taught some LAC in the past and have obviously read job descriptions but I wondered if anyone has personal experience?

What does the caseworker do in your situation?

Are they helpful?

How much contact do you have with them?
