Hi I'm new to this site. I've been going through the fostering assessment and now have my panel this week. Im Getting very nervous now can anybody tell me what to expect and any examples of questions they may ask. Thank youSmile

We went to panel last month, 7 people on panel (plus 2 observers - of the panel, not us). Quite relaxed really.
Started with 'why do you want to foster', think to settle you, then asked questions all based our Form F - what do our kids think, a question from a medical assessment (which we were told they'd ask), how I'd fit my work around fostering commitments. General question on how would we deal with a child who didn't want to engage with us as a family.
Over in around 20 mins and informed we'd been successful within 5mins of coming out.
Felt nervous as you would in a job interview but remember that you wouldn't have got that far if you weren't likely to pass - the assessor and manager would have a lot to answer for if they're not convinced and they take you to panel.

Thank you Smile that was good only 20 minutes. I didn't think I would be this nervous. I will have 10 on my panel. I think that's why I'm very nurvious as to be sat infront of 10 people all asking questions is very nerve wracking. Smile
