(3 Posts)DH and I have talked since before Dd was born about fostering.
We felt we could afford to provide sufficiently in a material way for one child, but we had love and parenting energy in abundance for multiple children.
We agreed that when Dd had a 'voice' we would look into this... well she has just turned six a few months ago, and tonight DH and I agreed that the time is right and have sent for an application pack.
I'm re-planning the house in my head to get a spare room ready and already imagining the little lives we are going to positively impact on!
Really I'm just buzzing and want to continue to share the excitement now DH has drifted off to sleep. We don't do big material gifts for each other but this decision about a new chapter is the best 'Xmas gift' we could have hoped for!
Hi did you go ahead with applying to foster
How exciting - good luck in the process, make sure you talk to several LA's and agencies and find the right one for you. Support is key!
