Who the key worker is?
They will probably do a care plan with you.

The one we use takes about 45 minutes and covers everything from the child's particle and physical needs, medication they are on, wht aids and adaptations they may use, bed time routine, food preference, activity likes and dislikes, behavur management - not as grim as it sounds, we want to know wht are triggers for a melt down and what coping strtegies are currently used.
The more detail parents give us the better.

Sorry, that was more about what the care providers need, but it is a two way processes.
The important thing is you give as much information as you can ( eg doesn't like small animals, likes to have food on different plates etc) the better the expierence.

Thank you for the replies, it is my first time of being a foster carer, we were only approved very recently, and I am attending a meeting for the respite plan this afternoon.

I am meeting the mum and the children, and the plan is going to be put in place for weekend respite care. It is good to know what sort of things I need to know from the mum before the first visit.
