Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on fostering.
Have just been called and told there is a little boy possibly being taken into care tonight. So waiting on a phone call. EEEEEKK!!
he's been removed, and will be coming here shortly - I didn't realise the mixed bag of emotions I would be feeling right now!
My first ever anything placement!!
He is here and is a total delight he is so settled and smiley. He is 11 months old and I can tell already he is going to be into everything!! he is pulling to stand and cruising, and crawling
and of course where is DH? in the middle of the Norwegian sea!!!
I hope you have a fabulous time caring for him.
hi there, squidgy,i hope your first placement is what you expectedhave fun i know you will be great for the little-un,
Hope all going well for you!We will soon be in the same boat as were approved last week. It's great to hear all about it. SW rang yest to say she needs to get our intro done asap so we're ready to take on respite!! Been feeling very "EEEEKKKK" too!! Seems so wierd to think after such a long process there will be a scared child in our living room soon!! Love to hear how it all goes for you so pls keep us updated!!
Aw Squidgy, just logged on and seen this. hope you have had a good night, he sounds lovely
Fab news. Did you sleep? Did he sleep? What are your own kids saying? Poor hubby missing out on the 1st night if the 1st placement. Never mind.
Hope you're all having a lovely time. xxx
Just wanted to say that I hope everything went well last night-presumably you will be a little bit busy and may not log on for a bit but good luck.
Good luck! Hope it's going well and little one is settling in.
Only just seen this!! Fantastic news!!! You'll be wanting back your sleep vibes and sleep dust now
frantic day - still alive - will update later
Can I just say well done to you. You must be an amazing person to do this. And all of you other foster carers. You hear so many horror stories of foster homes but anything I have read by any foster parent on here just makes me think WOW!
And Squidgy - enjoy!
Oh squidy.. I am sooooo pleased for you... well done!! and bless, he sounds so lovely...
I agree, poor hubby... still, hopefully plenty of time...
Don't worry - huge rollercoaster of emotions I think is PERFECTLY normal... lots of panic, OMG feelings, I can't do this, not sleeping in case they make a noise...
Chill babes.. you can do this, you will do this, and you WILL make a difference..
Every day a huge step forward... if you ever find a spare minute in your new life, log on!!!
Loads of love and positive vibes.. x x
Squidy brain, hurry back! I can't wait tI hear how it's going!
Hello? It's nearly silly-o'clock ( for me ) and you have not been back.
ARGhhhhhhh! come back and tell me everything!!!!!!!!!!!
Our little baby has been ill today and yesterday but still lovable and cuddly and gorgeous!
I'm so grateful for you ladies - I think that you are the only people I can talk to that know what I am dealing with.
It has been a roller coaster 24 hours! I didn't expect to have to deal with how many emotions that I have been feeling today.
My DH is an amazing man and is a wonderful father and I have missed him badly today. If for nothing else than having to build the highchair ;)
The LO is so settled, he's not strange with me at all, and loves to trail about after my 3 kids.
He had contact with both mum and dad (separately) and I got to meet them both and I am actually really impressed with his Mum, I just hope that her actions sound as loud as her words.
I am not so sure about the LO's social worker I think she has taken the p**s somewhat today, but I have done for it today for the LO but it's not carrying on (things like I said I needed to leave at 2.45 and I ended up getting to leave at 3.15! (I had to get a friend to pick up MY kids)
Thankfully the LO sleeps well - slept all night (you can keep the sleepy dust for just now SSM he sleeps 8-8
Have had a few moments when I have been feeling like I am standing on the edge of a cliff thinking what on earth have I done, saying you can do this and doing it are 2 different things
but one day at a time, and I know when DH gets home it will feel easier.
thanks again ladies - hoping all you and your LOs are doing ok, and the ones on the journey to this point keep going it is worth it x x x
I waited up for your response, and now giving up the fight! I'm glad you had time to sign in - must be a good sign! Have a good nights sleep tonight, sweet dreams, and I'll catch up with you tomorrow.
BTW I hate rollercoasters!
Take care xxx
AWH SSM - sorry I kept you up! you must have just missed my post!
take care and I hope that LO gave you a good night x x x
oh well done honey bun... glad he settled well enough...
sw taking the p**s - hmm.. that sounds very familiar..
standing on the edge of a cliff.. hmm.. that sounds very familiar too...
God, its a wonderful job but God, it can be difficult and emotional one too...
My LO's doing superb - they saw someone dressed up as a monkey yesterday at a play centre and were just stunned - I couldn't help but cry at their delighted faces..
Keep up the good work, hope hubby back real real soon, and stand up to the SW's !!!
I'm so glad he's settled well and sleeping! Lucky you
Re SW I would def jump on her now and set the ground rules. Don't let her take the mince!!!
Hugs and enjoy your weekend. xx

our 2 girls are not so patient tho' keep asking when the baby will arrive!
the littlest always adds a baby to her pictures when she draws our family!
