Hi. I'm researching a novel and I'm interested in the concept of masculinity (as it relates to men). I have two questions and I'd be grateful for some opinions.

1) What do you see as the negative aspects of modern men from your own experience (I prefer to avoid generalised abstracts as much as possible).

2) What do you see as positive aspects of manhood: the kind of things you might hope to find in "a good man".

It's a broad subject and I'm not expecting anything in particular. Examples would be useful. There's a whole world of theory but I'm looking for real-life experience.

A "novel"? sounds more like a psych/sociological treatise.
Have you asked men to comment on this?
