Hi all- this is my first time on mumsnet. Ive got a 6mo dd and have been weaning about 3 weeks. Shes having purees at lunch and tea and taking them well but im confused about how much to give. She has 2 cubes but i think shed eat more. Im worried that she wont have much milk if i do. Should I give her milk at the same time?Shes on 5 bottle feeds a day(last one at 10) and taking 5oz with her food(I give her milk with food) and 7-8 oz at other times. Is this ok?Id really appreciate any advice you could give as all the books and well meaning rellies say totally different things! Also, when should I drop the late feed? She doesnt wake up for a feed. She wakes at 3-4am is wide awake but settles in bed with us and goes back to sleep til 7. Thanks

I think what you are giving her sounds fine. If she'll take more solids then try her and see how she does on it, you may be surprised and find she still takes quite a bit of milk as well.

Welcome to MN BTW

Thanks for the advice. When do you think is a good time to drop the late feed? Dont mind doing it but not sure if she needs it or not. She still drink 6-7oz of milk.

I think you should try bringing it back gradually until you drop it all together. So I would move it back by about 20 mins a night until last feed is the 7-8ish bed time one.

If you are worried about her not getting enough milk, you can make up the purees with milk instead of water.
