DH is on 2 meals a day and I am about to introduce breakfast. She is on fruit and vegetables for lunch and dinner and I am lost for ideas of what to start on her for breakfast as do not think she could stomach 3 meals of solid fruit/veg a day. Any ideas?

Huh?

How old is she?
Why not a normal breakfast of, say, Readybrek? Or bits of toast?

jessicaandbumpsmummy Mon 11-Jul-05 12:21:41

mushy weetabix!

Emod Mon 11-Jul-05 12:21:50

readybrek is good or weetabix?

anchovies Mon 11-Jul-05 12:22:10

babyrice or readybrek with fruit. Or some toast if she's old enough?

colditz Mon 11-Jul-05 12:22:28

Wheetabix? Baby rice? Porridge?

Emod Mon 11-Jul-05 12:22:36

baby rice and milk

I used to grind muesli up into powder and lean over and squirt breastmilk into the bowl

TMI?

Presume you mean dd?!! yep have to agree with j&bm, mushy weetabix all the way! my 2 dd's have had it nearly every morning for the last 5 years! we should have shares in the weetabix factory

Lucycat Mon 11-Jul-05 12:24:36

Now that's clever emod, I'd have squirted it all over the kitchen if I'd tried that!! or in my eye....

I give DS Wheataix - but be carefully which ones you get as some have alot of salt in 0r you can get packets of babyporridge with fruit added that you just add milk or in my case water to DS loved these.

She's 6 months, good ideas thanks. Can she have oats does anyone know?

bran Mon 11-Jul-05 12:24:41

There are lots of baby porridge type things that you can buy, you just stir in water or the child's usual milk. I still give my ds Cow & Gate organic oatmeal because he loves it, although he is probably too old for it now. I'm rubbish in the morning so I don't cook a breakfast, but you could make proper porridge.

i know that feeling lucy... jess refuses anything but mushy weetabix in the morning! Occasionly will have a few crusts of toast, and tried her on rice krispies but with not much luck! Talknig of which, need more weetabix when i go shopping tomorrow!

OMG just realised I said DH!! Have had no sleep and am struggling in a seriously hot office, sorry..........

colditz Mon 11-Jul-05 12:25:43

I can't see any problems with oats.

I did baby rice for brekkie till 9 mnths with dd and then moved to porridge and shes still on porridge now with added raisins and sometimes prunes. Dp makes a small pot of porridge every 2 to 3 days and just heats it up when needed.
