I do great plain sponges but any attempt to use the brown stuff becomes a bit of a joke - dry and crumbly. What am I doing wrong?
Stick some yogurt or creme fraiche in it, or use a nigella recipe - she goes in for gooey cakes.
HEREThey are both absolutely delicious!!You probably want the perfect rich one however the other one is also lovely- really light, not dry and still chocolatey
