I have made the bolognese sauce and it turned out fine. It is what I would call an everyday one, so not thick and luxurious, the sauce is a bit watery so I might add a few red lentils next time a la Nigella, or maybe chicken livers. I like it as it is relatively low in sat fat and cals (watching what I eat very very very carefully as want to maintain my new, low weight!). I reckon any basic recipe would work OK in slow cooker - I do Delia's authentic ragu in mine - that one is thick and better for baked pasta dishes like lasagne etc. Goo basis with which to tinker really.
