do i brown the mince first?

how long do i put it on for?

low heat or high?

I do brown the meat but I suspect it doesn't make much difference if you don't l. Mine goes on for 3 hours on high.

If you brown the meat you can drain off the excess fat, if you don't brown it the meat seems a lot more tender to me but you will have some excess fat, unless you use the extra lean mince.
