Do your Dc eat liver?
My mil just went mad at me when i said i was cooking liver for dinner for my ds and the children i mind.
She said it was totally unsuitable for children and Dangerous for little ones!!
Is this true? Have i missed something?

the BBC website mentions liver as a weaning food so it cant be all bad. As far as I know it should only be avoided in pregnancy due to the high vitamin A content.

Apparently vitimin A is concentrated in the liver, and the supplements fed to farm animals can mean that the amounts of vit A are very high there. Excessive vit A can cause growth deformities. When my children were babies, pregnant women were advised to avoid it and it wasn't recommended for small children.

However, I'm sure that if they aren't eating it frequently it is fine. I give my 10 and 14yos liver from time to time.

Bollocks.

Not as a first weaning food, or too often, but it is good for them.

Mine love it with bacon and mash.

not before 6m (duh), and not more than once a week if taking supplements containing vitA.

dd (2.3) loves it, also kidneys
