Cocoa powder for chocolate buttercream icing?

I want to make chocolate buttercream icing for halloween cup cakes...i have icing sugar and doing the buttercream icing this way.

Can i add cocoa powder to make it chocolatey?? If so..how much ..i have no clue!!!! I have never ventured into this area before (and i thought there would be instructions on the icing sugar packet)

Yes, it's how I do mine. About a level tablespoon does it - unless you're making vast quantities, or try adding it half a tablespoon at a time until it tastes chocolatey enough make sure you sieve it though (with the icing sugar) - it can be a bit lumpy.

Ohh thats great, thanks for the sieving tip too-i would never of thought of sieving the cocoa first!
