Plum organic and some of the Rachels organic First yogurts are made with fruit juice. Sainbugs own brand mini pots and pouches, Morrisons brand frubes are all made with grape juice.

and you'd rather they had artificial sweeteners?

they are a pudding
they are meant to be sweet
if you want to cut down on sugar try not routinely offering puddings

just buy plain yoghurt and and fruit or honey or even jam

thanks oooooops, that's really helpful.

MrsB - I didn't say I wanted them to have artificial sweeteners - I just don't want sugar to be the 2nd ingredient on the list.

and actually I wouldn't especially classify them as a pudding - I like the dc's to have them as a source of calcium. And they are not routinely offered pudding - where did you get that from?

ah I would say routinely offering yoghurt = routinely offering pudding

but I am evil

I often find the g sugar per 100g more use than the ingredients list for this kind of thing

Well give them ordinary proper yoghurt - low-fat is usually stuffed with stuff to make it thicker - and add honey or fruit.

Low-fat/sugar-free is the work of the devil.

those petit filou are devils food
kids reek after eating them
my younger ones refuse them if offered them out now

yeah was thinking greek with some mushed up berries and honey

agree re petit filous

the sugar per 100g is pretty shocking - I don't give my dc's sugary snacks etc (sweets are for treats and bribery only ) but the hidden sugar in things like yoghurts, ketchup etc is dreadful so have been actively trying to cut it right down

thanks all

I think if Rachel's Organic or similar started selling little 6 packs of plain greek yoghurt they'd sell loads.

Granted it's not hard to just buy a big pot and decant it but those little pots are just so damn handy that lazy people like me don't in the main.

I don't even think you'd have to add anything to it. If dcs have it before they get used to the sweetened stuff they'd be fine with it. Petit Filous/Little Stars are so sweet.

(It seems so obvious to me, but I must be wrong otherwise someone would have done it by now)

Not too convinced by the ones with no added sugar. It tends to be concentrated grape juice which tbh is exactly the same - just looks better on the label.

It's the unnecessarily encouraging a sweet tooth that I used to get pissed off with. Ds is almost 3 so I'm over it

i would do that

add compote etc if you like but mine eat it natural its very easy on the palate
