So I've ended up with a tin of Tesco Value new potatoes

what on earth do I do with them?

I wanted normal new potatoes, and I got these as a substitute. Didn't notice until it was too late.

I had no idea that tinned potatoes even existed.

I can't bring myself to throw them away, and i can't see them being terribly popular on the school Christmas tombola.

Please don't make me eat them.

haha i have done this so many times with home delivery.

I rush to get the stuff unloaded then pmsl at the substitutions.

Your harvest fest would be a superb place for them or any old tombola. Def don't eat them!

We sometimes have them when we go camping.

They sort of 'pad out' the other odd things we eat when we go camping.

Odd things you'd not eat at home taste different in a tent. That is because I'm usually too busy fantasising about bathrooms and real beds to notice the food.

They do sound rather vile, but after all I suppose a potato is a potato is a potato... if you feel like they're too grubby to donate anywhere why not try slicing and frying them up? Might not be too bad with lots of ketchup

Had another thought - what about using them in soup? That way even if the texture's a bit weird it won't matter...

When do they go out of date? Shove them at the back of the cupboard for when the zombies come incase you ever need emergency grub. Mash 'em up, bit o' gravy, Bob's your teapot!

You can add mint sauce/chopped mint to them to make them taste kess vile or chuck them in a casserole/soup. Just rinse them well cos I think they're tinned in slightly salted water

They bring back memories from my childhood. I'd hine them in a robustly flavoured stew, or fry them up with garlic.

Get your kids to open the tin and empty them at the bottom of the garden then tell then its an experiment in the way food decomposes.

slice them up (can be done with egg slicer) and fry them then melt cheese into them while frying.......yum yum. or stick them in a cassorole. but dont eat them plain yuk

They are vile, the only exception is when they have been simmered in a Thai Green Curry. We were served quite a lot of tinned potatoes (or what tasted like tinned pots) when we were in Thailand and i'm now rather partial to them

cut them in half and drain them ,,,, then deep fry them .... makes them taste like 1980¬s school roast potatoes ! - dont ask how i discovered that
if all else fails donate to poor student ! will make a change from noodles and cornflakes that is usual diet of the nearly educated!

Spanish omelette. Slice them up, chuck in frying pan with lots of eggs, anything else you have leave to set. Grate cheese on top, pan under grill until top sets. It's nice cold too.

I thought there was a typo in your OP at first...but no, you did actually say TIN of potatoes. Who knew? As if thats a sensible substitute, the eejits. Why not just send a bag of normal potatoes instead?!!!
