LOL HF!

I'm fine with just the Pimms, but those pregnant ladies might need some substance!

I'd say keep it way simple - bread, butter,(hard or pasteurised) cheeses, tomatoes, avocadoes, cucumber, cashew nuts, hummus, strawberries and nectarines. But take nice plates, sharp knife to slice the cucumber, plenty of rugs to lie out on, and extra sunscreen. Plus some classy non-alcoholic stuff - Majestic do a nice elderflower sparkly thing.

oh hey - re fresh bread - freeze some rolls beforehand and they will defrost on the journey down?

A picnic at our consists of Chicken (roasted whole and sliced or pieces); cold sliced ham (either bought or DH will do roast gammon and slice that); lettuce or rocket or other green; baby toms (or large ones sliced); spring onions peppers, carrots, radishs, green beans and celery all cut into long thing fingers for dips; Mayo waterd down with a little milk and some white wine or balsamic vinegar; french dressing; potato salad and coleslaw made with mayo from above; tins of tuna just in case ; smocked mackrel; pitta bread toasted and halved as better for filling than bread; Other fancy bread if going cheap at the supermarket the day before; fruit for afters and maybe some yogurts.
