Help! Strong white flour or plain flour for brioche?

Quick question.

Just about to make brioche in my breadmaker and the recipe calls for strong white flour. I've only got plain flour, will this do or do I need to traipse to the shop?

I tried plain to make rolls once. They turned out like lead weights, so I'd pop to the shops if I were you!
