Ice cream sauce

If I melt 4 treat-sized finger of fudges will it a)make a sauce and b)make enough sauce for 3 adults with medium appetites?

How should I melt it? over a pot with water or in the microwave and if I do it in the micro do I need milk?

Fudge is quite high in sugar, I personally would pop a bit of butter in too to make it more rich and go a bit further. Over a pot with water is better than microwave because of the high sugar content (ie it may separate when heated unless stirred.

Or use butter, sugar and condensed milk and make actual fudge sauce instead wink

I have a lack of condensed milk, and can't go shopping 'cos I'm working. But you've reminded me I used to make a butterscotch sauce with butter, sugar and cream, wonder if I have cream?
