what can i do with 5 over ripe apples other than just 'eat' them

they were found sitting at the bottom of mu friut bowl along with 3 very rope bannans what can i do with them as i begrudge chucking them out

Cut in half and put out on ground for blackbirds (but not if you have any rodents about)

Make banana bread with the bananas apparently it is best made with overipe ones.

Agree with reikizen's suggestions.

You could also try an apple tart but is a bit fiddly. My vote is crumble.

Alternatively, you could grate your apples and use them in a cake or mike them up with some chopped red cabbage, a bit of onion and a dash of cider vinegar in a pan and simmer for a few hours and then serve with duck or other strong flavoured poulty. Particularly delicious with duck confit and potato dephinois.

Crumble! I went out to shops specifically to buy some apples to make crumble yesterday. It was delicious and very easy to make.

Stewed apples is the quickest thing I find... You can also freeze apples!
