what baby food brand/jars do you find the best?

i used the heinz tins with dd, but she then moved on to the sainsburys organic home made stuff at 7 months.

now at 10 months on proper food!!!!

they all taste the same no matter what brand or recipe and that is awful so try not to use them, only in emergencies. i just use the cheapest because of that

Hipp Organics Range. I know I am leaping into the fire with this but I do use jars as I work full time, am currently spending a lot of time and energy into trying to move out of this house (still having to live with ex) and dealing with a million and 1 things at once.

I agree home cooking is best but I simply don't have the time and so am concentrating on encouraging different tastes and textures of finger foods until my life is a bit straighter. He eats like a champion and is doing great, it is a work in progress for me right now.

There, I have done justifying it because I feel bad enough as it is.

As a standby I used to use organixs I cant remember the name, especially the fruit ones.

by the way has anyone tried the fruit pots??? (trulry fruits etc???), they are great as puddings or adding to breakfast cereals to spice them up. 100% fruits no additives etc. Quite pricey though.

We use heinz mums own they aseem to have a bit of variety in them. but for all other baby products i would go for cow and gate everytime.

It wasn't life threating NannyJo.

DD screamed when she was put to sleep on a night, which for the first few weeks we thought was normal as she was getting older and probably more aware of her surroundings but one night she didn't sleep at all and dh said that she should go to the gp's.
So the next day we went, gp immediatly sent us to the hospital as he was worried.

To cut a long story short she had a virus that was never identified and after being queried it all started at the same time we stopped giving dd home made food and went on to jars.
I thought it was tosh tbh but after a good chat with out hv she said it wasn't the first time she had heard it so I went straight back to home cooked food.

i was trying to be sympathetic to someone who works full time and cares for a baby as well, just a baby is enough for me at the mo so it must be hard. thats how it was meant to sound, sorry if i sounded snotty.

Nannyjo, sorry if I sounded defensive - I just having the usual "ohmigod, I getting it all wrong!" moment. I don't think you sounded snotty but these sort of debates will always divide.

I bought some of the Organix fruit purees last week in Waitrose as they were on special offer (3x4 for £3 I think!) but I think they are too runny for him now - he loves having a good chew on everything so I am not too concerned.

Just looking forward to being out of here when I can focus properly on both of us!

I can't put DS on jars a lot any way they make him constipated (i was trying to not cook on holiday but it git him in a state in the end) so i'll definitely stick to using them in emergencies.
