I bought the M&S 1234 curry thing the other day. I bought the marinated prawns one. The rest of the bits are fine but the prawns ran out yesturday. I have been doing a few evenings and tonight is the first time I actually can have a meal at home as was very much looking forward to eating it tonight.

What do you reckon?

Anything else I'd say yes, no problem. But I was iller than I've ever been in my life after eating dodgy prawns - just bin them. It's not worth 48 hours with D&V and quite literally not knowing which way to turn.

It's the only thing I also wouldn't ever consider

Just replace with a small apck from supermarket, and maybe freeze that part in future if any doubt (assuming it can be, sorry haven't actually tried those yet)

ok ladies the bin it is then. It said on the pack that it couldnt be frozen.

I would eat them. blush It's only one day out of date - they usually err on the side of caution wrt eat by dates, i'm sure it would be fine. but then I have quite a strong constitution...

Yes, use them if you're cooking them. That will destroy bugs.
If they're to be eaten raw them prob best not to risk it.

know what to take risks with!
Unopened tins are fine for years as long as not dented
red meat is fine if it smells good
seafood - ALWAYS OBEY THE DATE!!!!

I have spent the last 12 hours with my head down the loo after ignoring the sell by date on some mince. It's not worth it I promise. I feel wretched.

I don't think it's bugs you need to worry about, but the toxins they produce

although saying that M&S are overly cautious with UB dates

That's useful to know MrsMagnolia.
It's also good to know that left-over food doesn't go straight to landfill but into the stomachs of hungry people.
