SIL coming tomorrow, and I'm feeling very uninspired. Would like to cook rather than assemble IYKWIM.

No cheese (fgs, who doesn't like cheese), and nothing super super spicy.

large round of brie, several different breads, homemade/pretend home made soup

the wide flat pasta that looks posh, with cream, lots of black pepper and strips of smoked salmon

pear and walnut salad with nuts and wholemeal croutons

darn her for not liking cheese, fussy mare

{grin] at brie with the no cheese request - sorry mmr

Chick pesto pasta. Fry off some chopped up chicken pieces. Fry some garlic & onions (and mushrooms if you like) in olive oil. Stir in some pesto and also some creme fraiche, add the cooked chicken. You can add some grated parmesan if she's not that adverse to cheese. Cook some pasta, add that to the chicken & pesto mix, stir together. Serve with crusty bread & a green salad. Easy and tasty.
