I've got some stewed apple and some egg whites in the fridge, how do I convert them into apple meringue pie?
No idea! Could you make a pastry base and bake it blind, then fill with stewed apple, and then meringue mix ontop and bake like lemon meringue?Let us know if it works - I have lemon meringue, but would try apple!
This recipe is for Apple Amber, which I think might be what you are thinking of, I haven't made it for years but my mum used to make it and used to put a pastry layer under it, which you bake first thefoody.com/pudding/appleamber.html
