The stuff you make and freeze yourself is generally healthy, but I don't suppose that's what you had in mind.....

not really, im a bit too lazy.. i mean busy to make stuff
What packs of stuff can you buy that is healthy i.e. chicken dippers, twizzlers that kind of thing. (i know neither of them are healthy though)!

Birds eye do a nice battered fish called 'simply cod'. They have decent ingredients and are small enough for kids

my dd used to like vegetable fingers and lots of the linda mcartney range when we were in uk, dont know how healthy its. You can get healthy eating ready meals like cauliflower cheese etc, again I dont know how healthy they are.

Fish fingers, Quorn sausages roast and fillets, frozen veg, Weight Watchers desserts, Skinny Cow ice cream 'lollies'. I also found some plain salmon fillets which are frozen but in a special bag, they microwave in about 2 minutes, can't remember the brand name though.

So do you think anything that has veggies in it would be reasonably healthy? or fish?

Sainsburys sell a range of organic frozen veg in burgundy bags (forget the name atm). Do not buy frozen carrots, not nice, not worth it; broccoli OK but liable to get overcooked. Green beans good (don't microwave though) and any frozen peas cook best in microwave, they are yummy.

Little Big Food Company

Keep some bread frozen - if you buy a whole unsliced loaf (pref wholemeal), cut it in half and freeze the 2 halves, then you can defrost one to slice and the other half won't go stale.

or buy a sliced loaf and take out however many slies at a time.

Little Big Food Co stuff is great imo, they do organic mini mozzarella pizzas with no crap, peas, chips (so if you have to have chips at these are at least organic), beans, and mixed beans, sweetcorn and peas. Sainsbury's and Asda have recently de listed their small pizzas, no idea why and there's no contact us on that page or I'd email and ask them! I've also got pitta bread, bread, tomato sauce (made by cooking onions, garlic, tinned tomatoes and orgegano) for pasta and fish fingers in my freezer.

Basically, I'd say the same rules apply as do to fresh food: if it's not processed and doesn't have tonnes of additives etc, then it's probably ok. Oh, and also you can freeze fish, salmon steaks, tuna steaks and chicken/turkey breasts. If you're asking 'what processed food can I buy that's good for me?' the answer, IMNSHO, is not much! But very quick and healthy things, there are plenty of them. Or you can cook occasionally and freeze it.

If you are going to buy eg chicken dippers, Birds Eye are probably the best quality, but also the most expensive.

Is there a Lidl near you? Their food is fab altogether (being German, v little in the way of additives) and they have a huge range of pre-frozen food. Have a look there. (Teach yourself to read labels. If there are no chemical-sounding names and no E-numbers you are OK.)

I agree apart from basic frozen veg, best thinsg fro freezer are fresh things thatn you freze yourself

I cut chiken breasts into strips (goujons) and then grill or stir fry from frozen in minutes

Add frozen muhrooms/peppers/onion etc and you're away

Also half a bag of frozen casserole mix (or stew pack) and some veg stock makes a lovely soup
