I don't like leaving it on the hob for hours as my hobs don't go low very well, so it always boils and I have to check it so I was wondering if I could dump it in the slow cooker before I go to bed and then have it all ready for tomorrow?

This isn't for christmas is it? It will be terribly dry by then if you start cooking it now.

It wouldn't evaporate though so not sure it'd work as well.

both i'am afraid.

Yes and it was lush! You only need a can of coke though, no more.

Someone post the recipe for me because I need new ideas for my slow cooker!

grin at slubber
It never evaporates when do it on the hob, you just end up with the 'black cooking liquid of death' (as DH calls it)

thanks ilove, am very tempted.

cargirl.
gammon/ham
Coke
bung in pan. Simmer 2 or 3 hours.
eat

or you can do her 'cover fat in cloves, treacel and mustard powder and bake in overn for half an hourish, but mine never lasts long enough when it is on the side cooling from teh coke.

JackBauer Fri 28-Aug-09 21:51:07

Here
but i have never added onion as DH hates it.

CarGirl Fri 28-Aug-09 21:53:01

Is it salty or does the slow cooking in coke make it less so?
