...I've already made an apple crumble and DH made an apple sponge cake thing. We have loads still on the tree despite giving some away too, what else can we make? Thanks!

Spicy apple soup; apple and cinammon muffins; apple cake ; apple sauce; tarte aux pommes ; you can freeze the apple sauce

we have tons of apples on our tree too, but I am not sure if they are eating apples or cooking ones, how do you tell [thicko emoticon]

when I run out of ideas I just stew the bastards and freeze them till I can think of something exciting to do with them

I wish you could make jam of them but have never found a decent recipe

sherby, if you bite one and it is revolting (not just a bit sharp) then they are cookers

otherwise they are eaters (but may still be better cooked)

I don't even know if ours are eating or cooking apples! Only ever cooked them, they make a deelish crumble though

Wobblypig, do you have a recipe for spicy apple soup? Sounds interesting!

The apple and blackcurrant jelly sounds good too...

oh no not jelly

fannying about straining through muslins

I want stew-sweeten-boil-pot like I do with all the other donated fruit

we eat a lot of jam chez badge and without next door's greengages / PILs damsons / colleagues' rhubarb etc I would be Bonne Maman's biggest investor

I do at home but am on holiday at moment so don't have it to hand. Try googling it.
Also slice and roast with pork or cook with sausages.

We have a tree with loads too.
I was intending on making some apple chutney this year - maybe to give out at Xmas.

I found this recipe below but need to get some jars
