DH is away tonight and already I am looking forward to my haute-cuisine, gourmet feast of......a fried egg sandwich What's your guilty pleasure when you are just cooking for yourself? (Or no-one is looking- in which case I would have to admit to eating lemon curd straight from the jar.)
eating - chocolatecooking for just me - usually ends up being something that DP doesn't like like homemade veg soup and crusty buttery bread, or king prawn stir fry.You have made me want a lemon tart with my cuppa now!
Unfortunately in our house the lemon curd never seems to make it as far as meeting with pastry!
Campbells meatballs in gravy or spag bol in a tin. All the dirty foods
pate on toast
or like the other night - tinned spahetti & little sausages on toast
fish finger sandwiches, followed by either cream crackers with butter and sugar or digestives with butter and nutella. If cooking roast potates Yorkshire Pudding and gravy or a big dish of mash and cabbage with gravy. When I was a teenager it was wotsits on toast.
Chewy bread, cold butter and fish paste
school dinner type foodcheese and potato pie with shortcrust pastryinstitution meat pie with gravy and boiled white cabbage and white pepper [slaver]
Dr Onken pizza.
These are all good. i think the general rule to qualify is- i must be somethign you would be embarrassed for your neighbours to call round and see you eating!
Is it wrong to be sat here thinking about how yummy all this food is and what should I choose for lunch?
Salad cream sandwiches...
spam /luncheon meat fritters with baked beans and beetroot from a jar
We are all grown ups. We can eat what the hell we like.<opens fish paste>
Nelly- its got to be a fried egg sanwich. You know it makes sense. Just make sure the yolks are still runny and have an extra slice of bread for mopping up the yolk...can you tell why i wait til DH is out to eat this?!
Golden syrup sandwiches... a trip to the dentists on a plate but SOOO worth it. The bread must be white bread, of course.
Oh god I think you've convinced me.... my mouth is watering at your description!
Pleased to see I have a fellow convert!
Cold Heinz tomato soup.Fish finger sandwiches.
A jar of korma sauce, mixed with rice and eaten in a naan bread sandwich. Mmmmmm
It was divine
