How can I turn a packet of frankfurters into an edible meal?

DD coerced me into buying them, but I cannot think how to turn them into an appealing meal - appealing to me at least - dc's would prob eat them straight out of the packet.

Any suggestions most gratefully received. Otherwise I will have to 'lose' them...

I'm veggie, so don't use them but Nigella has a recipe for a split pea and frankfurter soup.

I use veggie ones in a sausage casserole and they're lovely,; perhaps you could do similar?

Or slice them into an omelette and have with salad?

A favourite lazy supper is rice, peas, sweetcorn, with chopped in (vege) franks and gravy. Eaten out of the bowl with a spoon. Does that appeal?

(And can you guess what I'm now having tomorrow?)

Chop them into a potato salad?

Buy some hotdog rolls and relish?

Make mash and they can be the bangers?

Just this once, could you make hotdogs for the kids (if they're not your thing) and have something else yummy for yourself? Children do love hotdogs, ime.

Wow, lots of replies, thanks everyone!

Need to cook them this evening (clearing out the fridge) so I think we're heading in a pasta sauce kinda direction.

All your ideas sound good, but Mumcentreplus, you have managed to make them sound positively appealing - well done!

Yum, sal! Was worrying that I was the only one recommending unhealthy hotdogs (I love 'em right along with the boys) until you came along and trumped me!

Am seriously tempted by the hotdog idea for another occasion

Turned them into a really quite nice pasta sauce - who'd have thought it?!

Thanks for all the good ideas.

Fry sliced onions, add the sliced frankfurters and then mix into pasta.
Include some bacon if you have any
