Veg picked from the allotment, does it need blanching?

before I freeze it, or can I just bag it and freeze it as is??

dependsd what it is shiny.

Some veg survive freezing better if blanched first, some don't need that.

At least prep it before freezing into how you will need it for cooking (peeling and slicing carrots etc.)

Yes, top and tail then blanch in boiling water (not for long) then immediately plunge in iced water.
Dry, put in sealed bags, freeze. Simple.

Yep blanche beans

I cook carrots and then freeze them for use in stews, soups and stocks etc where they work fine. I wouldn't just serve them as an accompanying veg on their own from frozen though, so it really does depend on what you will use them for.
