Impressive but surprisingly easy dishes to make
before I freeze it, or can I just bag it and freeze it as is??Thanks ladies
dependsd what it is shiny. Some veg survive freezing better if blanched first, some don't need that.
At least prep it before freezing into how you will need it for cooking (peeling and slicing carrots etc.)
Ooooh don't freeze carrots - they go all wooden.
French beans, runner beans that kind of thing?
Yes, top and tail then blanch in boiling water (not for long) then immediately plunge in iced water.Dry, put in sealed bags, freeze. Simple.this is good
Yep blanche beansI cook carrots and then freeze them for use in stews, soups and stocks etc where they work fine. I wouldn't just serve them as an accompanying veg on their own from frozen though, so it really does depend on what you will use them for.
