if I keep beating it, will it go stiff eventually?

my gooseberry fool

the cream was nice and stiff, but my gooseberry mush was way to runny. It looks like some sort of collective spit bowl.

So do I perservere with the whisk or chill and drink?

I've hoofed it up. It started to look a tad bitty like ready brek, then in seconds looked like scrambled eggs

Oh dear. And it's midnight. Am trying to think what you might do.

The scrambled egg look is a worry. Runny mush might have been okay, it might have set in the fridge overnight. Have you got any more cream?

I've thrown it down the toilet. Not worth getting fat for. Well have saved 2 little glass bowls so dh can rip the piss tomorrow

no more cream. It was really lovely cream that I wasted as well. God we could have jusy had gooseberries with the cream poured over

Tomorrow pour more cream on and give it a slow whisk through - with a fork - so gets absorbed in new cream. Will come up a treat. He'll be amazed and thrilled and secretly proud.

i disagree with 100x. your cream has split, there's no going back. i mean pooooooossibly if it was a hot savoury recipe i might suggest a rescue with cornflour and new cream but that's not guaranteed...

wow dyou reckon? Wow - that'll be like 2 huge pots of cream, so much sugar my teeth are wincing (gooseberries were a bit tarte) and a sniff of fruit - just to redeem my 2 little bowls

well you could try, but i don't think it'll work. make sure your mixing bowl is cold if you decide to start from the beginning tomorrow.

Look. You cooked the gooseberries right? And you whipped the cream?

And then folded the gooseberries into the whipped cream - through a sieve? But perhaps you missed the sieve bit?

then what happened? It went too mushy, so you whipped it all some more?

Am sure it can be saved. Is only gooseberries and whipped cream? Am sure you can whip some more cream tomorrow and fold it into the scrambled egg, no?

Were the gooseberries still hot when you added them, I'm wondering? If so, I think you might need to start again.

owwww I've trodden bastard cream into the carpet by coming in and typing this

The gooseberries ended up being ver runny. More like a juice. Too much water and not enough pulping I think

I never used a sieve but there was bugger all to sieve at this point

still have some more of the gooseberry fluid so can have another bash tomorrow evening after work
