get a tin of evaporated milk

chill at least overnight

dissolve jelly using half amt of water on packet (ie if it says use a total of 500ml use 250ml hot water)

whip milk til stiff

when jelly is cool but not set whip into milk

pour into bowl / bowls

chill

scoff

So do you whip the evap with an electric whisk to get it stiff, i didn't realsise it'd go stiff if whipped altho i'm sure i heard that line at a party once!

evap whips like cream if it's cold, but only if it's cold

makes a decent fool too (just stir in any old stewed fruit)

It's even nicer if you make it with manderin jelly and tinned manderins.

Thanks mrsB the evap is on its way to the fridge!

Evap is truely wonderful stuff.

I use it in so many things(obviously i need to list them now!)

Tuna pasta bake
Creamed/baked rice
Custard
In jelly
Sometimes in cheese sauce (nigella's recipe)
Chocolate sauce
Butterscotch sauce
in coffee
with tinned fruit
with crumble

GOD i love it!

AN essential item in my kitchen for sure!!
