Our family is far too dependent on meat. We do eat prawns, fish fingers, smoked mackerel, smoked haddock and fish (cod) pie. Any good (and relatively quick) recipes out there that a 3-year-old would also enjoy (possibly also soon-to-be-weaned baby)? Thanks!

The "anyone eats it" fish and pasta thing on here (ie mumsnet recipe section). Really easy and quick and DS has been eating it since 6 or 7 months too

poach cod in milk
steam some broccoli
break up cod, chop up broccoli, add some cheese sauce, and put mixture into a ramekin.
top with mash potato. bake. add some grated cheese to topping and grill if you can be bothered!

i also do the above with salmon.

Annabel Karmel has a nice salmon and orange juice recipe.

I make a butternut squash and tomato rissotto with cheese and either salmon or white fish in. My DS who is 18 months enjoys it - its quick and easy. I cook the fish seperately and bung in at the end.
Have you thought about fishcakes - tuna is nice or tinned salmon - haven't got a recipe sorry but if you google then should be able to find one.

my friend makes fishcakes for the dcs:

cook some salmon or cod, flake
cook some mash potato, add plenty of butter and milk
mix the fish into the potato
add chives/parsley if your dcs won't freak out
spoon a dollop onto a floured board, flatten and transfer to baking tray.
breadcrumbs optional, seems to work fine without if you grease the baking tray.

Hibeccatheboo - have to admit its a reworked Annabel Karmel.
50 g chopped onion
25 g butter
4 oz basmati rice
16Fl oz boiling water
150 g chopped butternut squash
3 ripe tomatoes
50 g cheese

cook onion in half of the butter until soft and then add rice. Stir until coated and pour over boling water, cover and cook on high heat for 8 mins. Stir in squash or sweet potato nice too - add some more water (sorry don't know how much but original recipe not enough) and cook, covered for around 12 mins.
Meanwhile skin tomoatoes and cook chopped in butter and add cheese until melted. Put this mixture in the rissotto when cooked.
I use canned tomoatoes and bung in some chopped spinach and peas sometimes as well. Then add whatver cooked fish and stir through. enjoy!

mean I used canned tomatoes instead of fresh as just as nice and less faff!

This is a good quick one

Chop up some cod or haddock. Put a few chunks into some ramekins, just cover with cream and then grate some cheese over the top. Put in oven for about 20 mins. Really tasty - serve with some veggies
