Just curious, when "they" say pork is a processed meat, just how processed is a fresh pork chop or piece of pork fillet? I can understand ham and sausages being classed as processed but frsh meat? Please someone enlighten me!

Fresh meat isn't processed, unless it's been cured/smoked?

so are they just generalising when they say pork is processed?

I suppose probably because most processed meat is based on pork - bacon, ham, salami etc

I think processed means that the meat has gone through a process (!) to turn it into a sausage - so chicken breasts aren't processed but sausages are because they have been mixed with other things.

exactly! but the way it came across was that pork is processed, without specifying. I was thinking for god's sake how much can they do to a chop! was looking forward to bbq!
