Requirements:
*in London but not outside zone 2/3
*Special treat type budget but not astronomical
*Any type of food but pref not sushi or Indian as, tho totally yum, we'd like a change

Mr Scum and I have both been working hard lately and haven't been out for yonks. I want to take him somewhere special.

Any ideas?

Upstairs with two bottles of champagne and a packet of Kettle Chips?

Am racking brains. The only place I've eaten recently that fits the bill is the Cinnamon Club, which is too Indian for your requirements but did put, shall I say, a smile on my other half's face...

Ooo- if we had an upstairs that would be the perfect solution, mi. I bet the Cinnamon club is wonderful. I'll put it on the shortlist anyway as I imagine it bears little resemblance to our local budget Indian takeaway, good though that is.

Am thinking hard. The Melati on Windmill Street is an old favourite of mine (Malay/Indonesian food) - haven't eaten there for ages, mind...

I have heard reports about food at Cinnamon Club being a wild aphrodisiac. Now, who told me that.

Some of us go to posho restaurants more often, of course, BP

Well, quite.
(We went to the Wells in Hampstead last night -- food was ace. And walked home across the heath in the gloaming... bats!)

Quaglinos, Bluebird - do you like Conrad places?

Bearess · 14/05/2005 14:46

I haven't been but dh has taken clients to Fifteen and said that the bistro place there (not main restaurant) looks really nice - he thought better than restaurant.

What about The Gay Hussar in Soho.

Oh have a lovely time Mr & Ms Scum! Bakedpotato I heard that about Cinnamon Club too, d'ya think we heard it from the same person?

Hey, I don't get out much. Certainly not to such effect. In fact, ever, really.

Bear in mind DD1 was born a mere 14 months after I took up with her father. I have to gather my rosebuds where and in what rather more pot-pourri like fashion I can.

Have a fabulously scummy time, you two.

So scummy - how was it? We wnet out last night too and, well rekindling was on the menu - once I'd managed to get rid of the exceedingly talkative babysitter- 25 bloody minutes she rabbited on for

It was fab- though there was a last minute change of venue as cellar gascon was closed. We went to St John and it was utterly brilliant. Bone marrow on toast worked wonders in the rekindling department! Seriously fantastic evening- food, wine, service, brandy and company were amazing.
