Kidney beans go nice in chili con carne. And there's en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rice_and_peas. Also nice in a Caribbean curry. Had some with oxtail the other day. The gelatinousness of the oxtail works well with the kidney beans, which don't disintegrate even after hours of cooking.

Hummus?

Cassoulet is yummy, you need strong sausage, haricot beans, tomatoes, bacon, and preferably some duck legs.

You can also make proper baked beans with haricot beans, a pork hock or two, and some treacle.

Refried beans?

Tempeh is nice: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempeh You can make it from dried soy beans. Very cheap if you do that.

Lentil dal is ok.

Puy lentils go well with bacon.
