I have casserole steak to use up - give me your best recipes and ideas!

I guess a casserole is the easiest option but interested to know what else I could make using casserole steak (we had it in stir fry last night).

Also, too many different recipes on Google, I can't possible choose which one to use. What is your best casserole recipe? I can't stand carrots or parsnips so needs to not have either of those as a main ingredient.

Thank you!

what about a chilli? I usually use mince but friend makes it with chunks of beef, and chilli responds well to a long slow cook

alternatively -

BRazilian beef (naff name but there you go!)

1 kg beef,
1 tbsp oil,
3 onions,
garlic clove
25g flour
150ml black coffee (1.5 tsp instant in 150 ml water)
150ml red wine (or stock)
1 lg tin toms
s and p
pinch nutmeg
2 tsp brown sugar

fry meat in the oil, lower heat and fry onions and garlic

sprinkle in flour, cook stirring for a minute
mix in everything else, bring to a simmer cook for 2 hours gas 3 /160C

Mmm, they both sound fab, thank you.

What do you serve them with? Rice?

I do rice or maybe mash and whatever veg I have kicking around the bottom of the veg rack.

Or, crusty bread to mop up the sauce can work well too.

I am about to try making something based on the filling of the Pieminster Matador Pie which is made of beef, chorizo, olives, tomato, sherry and butter beans, with some smoked paprika. I think that sounds utterly delicious and quite summery for a casserole.
