Spaghetti Bolognaise, with loads of veg.

Other stand-bys are: boiled egg mashed up with butter, plus granary toast & Marmite; pasta with cheese and broccoli; grapes, cubes of cheese, breadsticks, hummus, ham; home-made soup with chunks of bread in it; cheese or sardines on toast...

Avocado - some in chunks, some smeared on rice cake. A bit of cheddar. And a banana yoghurt. And then another rice cake smeared with the detritus of the above. He's 9 months.

jumpyjan Mon 15-Jun-09 13:55:20

mac cheese with chopped ham, carrots and broccoli & a yoghurt.

AK stuffed jackets are good and v easy and her toasted tuna muffins are great.

We also get a big bag of salmon fillets (when on offer in tescos!) and serve with mashed sweet potato and whatever veg is around. You can microwave them in minutes so v quick and easy.

I do think AK recipies are good and it is worth having a look at her book. I agree that some recipes are a faff but you could just take ideas from them and de-faff to make you own easier version.

Tuna fishcakes in wholewheat pitta pockets with grated cucumber and spring onion inside, smothered in lemon mayo.

Pasta with cheese and ham sauce, some rice cakes and corn snacks. Then a yoghurt and a mashed up banana with raspberries and blueberries, finished off with a biscotti. He's 11 months and a nightmare eater so I was dancing round the room as it's the best meal he's ever eaten!

shootfromthehip Mon 15-Jun-09 14:01:14

half a crumpet, stick of carrot, bit of cucumber, few crisps, tomato, cheese dipper thing. Oh and he ate a mango about half an hour before so that probably counts!

He tends to always have pretty much the same thing tbh (with some variations)then a cooked tea later on

ohdearwhatamess Mon 15-Jun-09 15:15:40

ds1 (3yo) had packed lunch at pre-school: smoked salmon pate sandwiches, orange juice, yoghurt.

ds2 (1 yo) had cheese sandwich, yoghurt, banana

Mine have sandwiches (or toast) and yoghurts pretty much every day for lunch.

Lentil soup, bread and cheese.

Then, weirdly, a mince pie, because they had them in the bakery. And now we're listening to an Xmas CD.
