in the bad for you, pointless as a breakfast item, bad mother catergory?

TrinityRhino Sun 07-Jun-09 09:50:28

I know its boring but go on

In Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder it mentions how it was used as a breakfast cereal with milk on.

So I'd say good-pinny-wearing-homespun-mother category grin

Fine as a one off treat/stressed out morning.

Actually depends on if it was plain/sweet/satled/butter?

TrinityRhino Sun 07-Jun-09 09:53:04

really giraffes
but what is popcorn exactly and what would make it so bad that it would have to be a one off/stressed morning thing

anarchyaunt, thats very interesting

TrinityRhino Sun 07-Jun-09 09:53:44

What's the difference between pop corn and puffed wheat or rice crispies? Or cornflakes?

AnarchyAunt Sun 07-Jun-09 09:55:36

Here

(Can you believe there is a book on the social history of popcorn!!)

Thats why I did my 2nd post when I hear popcorn I think of cinema popcorn laiden with salt and butter <drool>

But plain popcorn is different.

So my first answer was about popcorn with lots of salt etc. However compared to some breakfast cereals anyway there probably isnt much difference.

corn is a veg yeah ? Therefore it is one of your 5 a day

it's probably more nutritious than cocoa pops. With milk sounds quite nice smile

I gave my unborn baby icecream with choc sauce for breakfast this morning blush DD had porridge though.

Did you pop it yourself?

I think you;d have to eat quite a lot to get much energy out of it - it's mostly air.

my mom gave my sister jaffa cakes for breakie every morning because it was all she would eat hmm

I wouldn't worry about popcorn
