Fajitas.. but no Old El Paso...

What do you use to season the chicken for fajitas? - I don't want to use a packet mix, but not sure how to make the chicken spicy.

smoked paprika is the main ingrediant there is also jamie oliver recipe which was in mof book but i thought it was minging and kids refused it, will type it out if your still interested but hopefully someone will give you a better idea

thanks, just a few ideas, I kind of know what flavours I like but not sure which to use and what combination! Isn't smoked paprika quite sweet?

ground corriander
chilli powder

(dash of cinnamon)

I use:

1 tablespoon cornflour
1 teaspoons chilli powder ( for dc's I out 1/2 in)
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon cumin
pinch of salt and a pinch of sugar.

I just use paprika and even my fussy eaters will eat it

I'd do something similar to BCNS but using fresh crushed garlic.

I sometimes add yoghurt to the chicken marinade, it tenderises the flesh.

Like with a good chilli, the essential spices for Mexican type flavoured food are paprika and cumin.

Barts smoked paprika can be found in Waitrose. It is fantastic stuff
